Biography of HANS HEROLD

HEROLD, Hans  (1923-  ).  Born in Munich, Germany and active in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (1957-88) and Crofton, British Columbia (1988-  ), Herold studied in Munich, Germany with Karl Maxon (1946-47); in Saskatoon with Nik Semenoff (1958-59); and at Emma Lake Workshops in 1983 with Charles Millard and Larry Zox, and in 1984 with Tim Scott and Valentin Tatransky. Working in acrylic, oil and watercolour, he paints landscapes in an Impressionist style. He taught in Saskatoon (1968-75), and held a solo exhibition at the MAG in 1965. His work is in the collections of the AGH, CCAB, MAG, MMFA, SAB and WAG.
