Biography of JACK DARCUS

Jack Darcus (1941 - )  Darcus was born in Vancouver, BC and graduated from the University of British Columbia with a degree in Philosophy and Fine Arts in 1963. By 1969, he was an established painter and art instructor. Darcus has taught at UBC, ECUAD and the Vancouver Film School. He has experimented with film and has written, produced and directed 8 Canadian feature fiction films as well as written 3 novels. His paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally, with egg tempera being his preferred medium. His gallery, Darcus Gallery, is on Granville Island in Vancouver.
