Biography of THOMAS WESLEY MCLEAN
MCLEAN, Thomas Wesley ALCT, CSGA, CSPWC, MSA (1881-1951). Born in Kendall, Ontario, McLean studied under Robert Holmes, William Cruikshank, Fred Challener and George Reid at the Central Ontario School of Art, Toronto; and under Gustav Hahn at the Central Technical School, Toronto. Working in watercolour and colour woodblock, his subjects include landscape in the Lake Louise area of Alberta, and in Ontario. He was influenced by the Group of Seven, and worked with several of them at Grip Limited. He died in Toronto. He exhibited with the RCA in 1912, 1928 and 1932.
