Biography of GEORGE ROBERT BRUENECH

BRUENECH, George Robert  ARCA, OSA  (1851-1916).  Born in St. Malo, France, Bruenech studied painting in France. He immigrated to Canada in 1872. A landscape painter in oil and watercolour in his early career, he later became a portrait painter. He travelled extensively to Norway, England, the Netherlands, New England and Quebec. He exhibited frequently at the RCA from 1882-1912 and the AAM from 1883 to 1908.
