Biography of CHARLES BLISSETT MILLNER

MILLNER, Charles Blisset (1805-1895). Born in Bristol, England, Millner studied under Francis Danby. He came to St. Catharines, Ontario about 1820 where he later died. He initially worked as a farmer but began teaching at St. Catharines Collegiate Institute. He worked in oil and watercolour, and is known for his classical landscapes, and religious and genre subjects. His work is in the collection of the AEAG.
