Biography of PETER HENRY GOETZ

GOETZ, Peter Henry  CSPWC, OSA, SCA  (1917-active 1969).  Born in Slavgorod, Siberia, Russia, Goetz came to Canada in 1929 and studied at Waterloo College, Ontario under E. Cleghorn and Fred Varley; evening classes at Doon School of Fine Arts; with Fred Varley; and watercolour in Japan. He has travelled extensively in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Europe and around the world in 1963 and 1976. Working in oil and watercolour, he paints harbour scenes and landscape in a semi-abstract semi-Impressionist style. He has worked as an accountant. He exhibited with the RCA between 1958-1965 and MMFA between 1955-1960.
