Biography of ARMAND TATOSSIAN

TATOSSIAN, Armand RCA (1951- ). Born in Alexandria, Egypt, Tatossian studied under Adam Sheriff Scott (1966-1969); art history at McGill University, Montreal (1967-1969); at the Cararra de Bergamo Academy, Italy (1970); and at the Academy of Paris (1971). He has been active in Montreal since 1960. Working in oil, watercolour, pastel, ink, and photo-lithography, his subjects include landscape, still life, nudes, urban scenes such as backyards, streetscapes, and forests, in an impressionistic style. Many of his scenes are painted in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, as well as Toronto, Ontario. He taught at Concordia University, Montreal (1971-1974) and visited Russia in 1975. His work is in the collections of the MQ, NAC and NGC.
