Biography of ANNIE WHITE PRINGLE

PRINGLE, Annie White (née Greive) (1867-1945). Born in Leith, Scotland, Pringle studied evenings at the Edinburgh School of Art, then came to Canada in 1899. She continued her studies at the Monument National, Montreal; and at the Art Association of Montreal under Alfred Laliberté, William Brymner, and Edmond Dyonnet. Working in oil, she is known for her portraits, and landscapes. She married in 1889. She was a member of the Women’s Art Society of Montreal, and died in Smiths Falls, Ontario. She exhibited with the RCA in 1931, and the AAM in 1919-1936.
