Collector's Comment: Born in London, England, Ready was a self-taught but extremely accomplished marine painter of mainly south coast scenes, and Dutch coastal views. At some point he went to America where he lived for five years. He died in Brighton, England.

Collector's Comment: A landscape and marine painter, Sutcliffe lived in Leeds, Yorkshire, and painted in several parts of England, including Whitby, Yorkshire, and Lynmouth, Devon. Painting in a pleasing impressionistic style, he is recognised for his fine and often emotional depictions of rural and coastal life.
