The auctioneer:
Auctioneer Anthony Westbridge is well known to the Canadian and international art auction community as publisher and editor of the Westbridge Art Market Report, a bi-monthly art market newsletter, the Canadian Art Sales Index ( now in its 24th year), and the much-heralded Collector's Dictionary of Canadian Artists at Auction. He is also author of Made in Canada! An Investor's Guide to the Canadian Art Market, and How to Make Money Selling Art at Auction. Anthony has been an art dealer in Vancouver for more than 25 years, specializing in 19th and early 20th century paintings.

What is a 'boutique' auction?
A boutique auction is a unique concept within the auction industry. While the preview is open to the public like any regular auction, the sale itself, conducted in an intimate gallery setting, is by invitation or reserve seat only and is reserved for serious bidders genuinely interested in purchasing items in the auction. Such bidders are advised to notify the auctioneer of their interest in order to reserve a seat at the sale. As seating is extremely limited, and dispensed on a first-come first-served basis, it is likely that seating may not be available for all interested bidders. In this event those bidders not able to secure seating are advised to leave an absentee bid with the auctioneer, or, if the value of the lot merits it, arrange to bid by telephone.

Consignments: We will take art work on consignment to be sold either in our retail gallery or one of our regular fine art auctions. Consignors can, therefore, if they choose, and if the work merits it, enjoy the benefits of 'double' exposure by offering their items initially in a retail environment and, if not sold, then through the auction process.

Outright Purchase: We will, under special circumstances, purchase outright single works of art, entire collections and estates. Should you wish to sell your works outright rather than place on consignment, please notify the auctioneer.

Specialty Sales: Throughout the year Westbridge Fine Art Auction House will conduct several specialty sales in addition to their regular bi-monthly fine art auctions. We are therefore looking for consignments for upcoming sales of marine paintings, garden art and artifacts, portraits, and single-artist sales. If you would like to consign works to any of our specialty auctions please contact our offices to arrange for a confidential appointment.
